In the first years of her career, she was introduced to Bumble and Bumble and she instantly fell in love with their drive and energy. Connecting with their warm and easy culture, Jana has built her own haven for hair in the heart of old town Fairfax. Her modern take on vintage aesthetics reflects her admiration for quality that will stand against time, and her cuts are no different.
While she consistently stays on trend with her work, she maintains the quality in her cuts that she seeks in all of the vintage gear she has throughout her shop. She focuses on creating cuts that look just as beautiful and effortless after the product is washed away as it did when you were sitting in her chair.
Jana’s time spent exploring hair in New York City with Bumble and bumble tailored her style as a hair dresser, helping her to create brilliantly dimensional hair colors and strengthen her expertise in short, technical cuts with hair of any texture. Her belief that even a minimal change can make one feel confident and create more significant changes in a life as a whole has shaped her passion for her clients.
While Jana may not strive to be a world renowned hair stylist, her efforts to inspire her clients and spark their passion for themselves has become her proudest achievement as she builds her local empire.

Born and raised in the nation’s capital, Washington DC, Yeny has always had a passion and love for everything in the world of beauty.
As a little girl, she remembers traveling to El Salvador with her mother. While there, Yeny began watching her aunt Roxana, a makeup artist/hairdresser, do what could only be described as “magic”. Men, women and children left her chair with so much joy! From that moment, Yeny knew she wanted to learn every “magic trick” she could from her aunt. She would spend weeks in the salon learning everything from color techniques, makeup application, blowdrying and even manicures/pedicures. As years went by, Yeny became her aunt’s twin; she became the one creating magic herself!
Yeny attended Paul Mitchell The School at Tyson’s Corner. From that point on there was no turning back! She learned so much about the stylist she wanted to become, and she was certain she was going to make this her career. Over the past couple of years Yeny has dedicated her entire mind, body and soul to perfecting the craft of balayage (hair painting) and lived-in haircuts while emphasizing organic, subtle changes. Her work has been featured on some of Instagram’s most popular pages such as Olivia Garden, Hot Tools, and Behind the Chair. Yeny’s goal is for all her guests to feel comfortable knowing that she focuses on beautiful, healthy hair! She cares for every single guest she has and prides herself on maintaining long-term relationships.
Yeny is so grateful to have such amazing people in her life and believes she wouldn’t be where she is without each and every one of them. She looks forward to creating new “Pinterest-looking” hair art and beginning new relationships in the process!

Growing up, Dominique always had a love for the world of art. Throughout her school years, she enjoyed being in art classes, engaging in painting, drawing, and her favorite, ceramics. This deepened her fondness for artistry.
As she matured, she began to merge her artistic skills with hairstyling. She started by bringing her nail kit to school and, during lunch, would do her friends' and classmates' nails. This experience sparked her interest in the beauty industry as her form of artistry.
After high school, Dominique enrolled in the Aveda Arts and Sciences Institute. Before starting school, she participated in the 2022 Catwalk for Aveda, where she styled hair, did makeup, and created a recyclable dress from trash bags, adorning it with mini roses made from the same material. This experience affirmed her calling.
Dominique realized that making others feel great about themselves was something she loved. This conviction solidified her belief that she was in the right field. In school, she actively worked on highlights, color, and cuts, and often practiced on friends and family outside of school to master her craft.
Over time, her love for the hair industry remained steadfast; it became more than a job or a career – it was her true passion. While in school, she worked at a Drybar, where she honed her blowout and styling skills. If ever in need of a good blow-dry, she would be thrilled to assist!
Dominique looks forward to continuing her growth at Mara and aims to become a Master Stylist in the near future.
